I am an artist and designer based in Petersfield which is located in the beautiful South Downs National Park in Hampshire. Working from my garden studio I explore the world of wool by hand spinning, weaving and needle felting and develop ideas and themes through painting and drawing.
Inspiration for my wool art pictures comes from my drawings, paintings and photographs. Some of these images are available as printed coasters, cards and place-mats. Recently I have returned to more painting and design work, finding inspiration around my home and garden.
As a designer I have produced a series of illustrations featuring cats and colourful creatures, as well as my felted wool pictures. These are available as cards here on my website and in several independent stockists and galleries around the UK. Recent ranges include textile designs featuring watercolour birds and flowers which have been applied to exclusive neckwear and muslin scarves.
My two paintings of Petersfield (St Peter's Church and the Open Air Pool) are available as cards, mugs and tea towels here in my website shop and some designs can be purchased at the newly renovated Petersfield Museum shop.
I take wool artistry into wearable art by using yarns which I have processed, dyed and spun by hand hand for making woven and knitted accessories. Each of these are unique pieces which are my own designs. I like to source raw fleece from British farmers for use in spinning and weaving and also seek out locally produced yarns to incorporate into my projects
