The first designs I ever created were my 7 folk art cats, a colourful set of images which have stood the test of time. Six of them are also available as melamine coated cork-backed coasters, either as singles or in a boxed set. My Folk Art Cats are inspired by the rich colours, patterns and embroidery found in traditional Estonian folk art. I have combined these decorative influences with my love of cats to create a collection of colourful, contemporary cat designs.

More recently the Garden Cats collection evolved from a series of painted paper collages and are inspired by my own cats as well as those which visit my garden and prowl around my garden studio. Each cat was made from hand painted papers which were cut to shape using scissors and a craft knife. After scanning each cat, flower and bird into the computer I used digital techniques to assemble layouts for application to greeting cards and textile design as well as coasters and mugs.

 

For the manufacture of finished products I use British companies and ensure that everything is of the best quality. As a small independent business I take enormous pride in the finished article and hope that this comes across in each item.
