Tulip Blues is an original still life painting of a colourful bouquet of tulips in a glass vase, set against a cool blue background and resting on an embroidered vintage tablecloth. I wanted to capture the fresh, calming feeling of tulips against blue, with the patterned cloth adding another layer of colour and texture.
Painted on a 50 × 50 × 2 cm canvas, framed in an off white shadow frame, the blue background continues around the sides.
